OF ADVANCED MOTORISTS
DriveCheck is a one-off assessment. It is not a test, simply a friendly and constructive assessment of your driving skills over a drive in your own car at a time to suit you. It is an ideal refresher whether you have been driving for a long time and feel that you may have developed bad habits or you are relatively new to driving and feel that there may be more to learn.
It takes about an hour comprising an initial introduction, a drive of 30-45 minutes and a feedback session, at which you will be presented with a written feedback form.
It is available to all holders of a full driving licence who are not already IAM members. There is no obligation to continue on to our Skill for Life programme of preparation for taking the Advanced Driving Test.
There are two versions available:
- DriveCheck is conducted by an Observer from Forth Valley Group and costs £25. To apply for this, either sign up online on the IAM national website or contact our Membership Secretary, Moira Parker, by phoning 07779 416 284 or emailing membership@forthvalleyiam.org.uk.
- DriveCheck55 is conducted by an IAM Examiner and costs £35. You can purchase DriveCheck55 from the IAM national website either online or by downloading a form.
