Committee 2015/16

IAM committee 2015 2016

Honorary President and Vice President
Honorary President and Vice President.
Fiona Robertson manages The Green Welly Stop in Tyndrum with husband Edward. She passed her car test a few years ago but only recently completed a life’s ambition by passing her motorcycle test.

Fiona’s main involvement with our group is to promote Advanced Driving and Skill for Life, to encourage people to increase their skills and knowledge and become safer drivers and riders.

Through hard work we have all benefited from the wisdom of those who give up their free time to train, advise and coach new associates. I take my hat off to them for doing so. Now it’s up to us as Advanced Drivers to encourage new associates to join and in turn help save lives. Let’s keep our team of hard working, talented observers busy and as a group promote this brilliant experience!

In the meantime, I’m making sure that I am continuing to learn, I want to know more, lots more. I am going to continue to ‘pick brains’ and keep improving my motorcycle riding. Doing my second skill for life has made me re-focus on my car driving too, which has done me no harm whatsoever. It’s been a really exciting and educational year, and I look forward to giving some of my time to the Forth Valley Group.

Keep learning folks, encourage others to learn, it’s good for the brain, and after all most importantly, it’s a life skill.

On retirement from the Committee after many years as Chairman, Angus Maciver was invited to hold the position of Vice President of Forth Valley IAM. Although stepping down from Forth Valley Group, Angus will concentrate on co-ordinating the DriveScotFree initiative throughout Scotland.
