OF ADVANCED MOTORISTS
RideCheck is a one-off assessment. It is not a test, simply a friendly and constructive assessment of your riding skills over a ride on your own bike at a time to suit you. It is an ideal refresher whether you have been riding for a long time and feel that you may have developed bad habits or you are relatively new to riding and feel that there may be more to learn.
It takes about an hour comprising an initial introduction, a ride of 30-45 minutes and a feedback session, at which you will be presented with a written feedback form.
It is available to all holders of a full licence who are not already IAM members. There is no obligation to continue on to our Skill for Life programme of preparation for taking the Advanced Riding Test.
There are two versions available:
- RideCheck is conducted by an Observer from Forth Valley Group and costs £30. To apply for this, either sign up online on the IAM national website or contact our Membership Secretary, Moira Parker, by phoning 07779 416 284 or emailing membership@forthvalleyiam.org.uk.
- RideCheck+ is conducted by an IAM Examiner and costs £40. You can purchase RideCheck+ from the IAM national website either online or by downloading a form.
